about

Using Drums to help write a song, work on timing, or practice new grooves works. This collection has full kits and percussion kits.
Beginning the songwriting process with drum loops is a common starting point for R&B songs, but it is just as common when writing with a rock band, in addition to many other styles. If you don’t normally write this way, give it a try, you might be very surprised at the amazing and innovative new songs you create. Beginning your songs a different way than you normally do can add a lot of variety to your songwriting style, and it can also increase your number of completed songs. Additionally, if you ever suffer from writer’s block, beginning songs in a new way is a great technique to snap you out of it quickly.

Here is a collection of 63 drum grooves / loops I have made as a tool for songwriters, drummers, educators, and anyone that plays an instrument. It beats writing with a metronome and using those apps that give you a few beats for .99 cents, then makes you purchase 10 more for 5 dollars. These grooves are inspired by some of my favorite teachers / educators such as Mike M. I play other instruments at a beginner level at best, and use drum beats for timing and groove. I also hope they can inspire other drummers to find the right beat for their project, jam along, or learn a new groove. These are functional grooves with drums and percussion, not wide open gospel chops ( but I love to listen to those cats). I have several other collections on bandcamp as well. All high quality files. I hope you will find these helpful in your musical journey. Share Share Share!!!
